Your washroom is your relief center. Normally town houses and apartments do not have more than one washroom or two. Like the rest of your house you sure want it to look good. Also the mirrors will improve the lighting of your washroom, providing reflections that make the washroom extraordinarily large. Instead of looking like the walls are closing in on you, they will make the bathroom appear to be bigger and having enough space.

• Lighting also has an important role in making your washroom look spacious. Use wall scones, mirror lighting and energy efficient bulbs whatever is most convenient to you. CFL light bulbs are the best option for this reason. As they give light that is shiny enough to make your bathroom look spacious. Allow sunlight to come as well in daylight hours. Get rid of curtains from the windows for this reason.

• Fixtures are the most initial thing you should consider. For the tub, the area occupied should not be more than 60”×32”. Use a lower walled bath tub so that it covers lesser area. As for the sink, use the pedestal type. Remove the cabinets under it. Also omit other extra cabinets all around your washroom. Use glass shelves to substitute the cabinets. Also remove extra toiletries lying on the floor. Build up a cabinet to place in towels and other stuff inside it.

• Instead of a traditional door that opens sideways, use a sliding door. These will reduce the area occupied when the door is opened. You do not have to use really expensive material to get it done. Instead of a wooden door, use some other less heavier material that makes the opening and closing of the door easier for each member of the family.
